The city of Lucerne wants to strengthen its welcoming culture with a pilot project. A new counter, digital information and new formats for welcome ceremonies are intended to help newcomers integrate better and faster. In addition, the ‘DeutschFit’ German course voucher will be available for foreign-language newcomers from January 2026.

The Welcome Desk offers short personal consultations for newcomers. No appointment is necessary and the service is free of charge. The Welcome Desk is located at Obergrundstrasse 1, right next to the customer centre.
